Live Scoring

We will be participating in Live Scoring via Golf Genius. For those of you who are new to this process, one player in each group will be designated to enter scores for all players via the Golf Genius APP. We would kindly ask that if you do not have the App please download it on your mobile device prior to the first round. For those that are unfamiliar with this process, there will be an official at each starting table with instructions for the group, it is not disruptive and very simple to use. It is to be noted that scores entered via the App are unofficial; your scorecard will still be the official document.

Tournament Rules

Range Finders

Range finders may be used during stroke play. AJGA range finder rules will apply in that a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device, however, if during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect play (e.g., elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.

USGA Rules Mobile App

Download the free, brand-new Rules of Golf app for iOS and Android devices. The app contains the Player’s Edition, the Full Rules, and the Official Guide to the Rules, plus many additional features including helpful videos, diagrams, FAQs, quizzes and more!

Push/Pull Carts

Mira Vista Country Club permits the use of pull/push carts by competitors. A limited number of carts are available and are available on a first-come basis. Players may bring their own push/pull carts.

Spectator Carts

Spectator carts are not permitted unless the spectator has a handicap placard issued by a state agency or has a letter of medical necessity. Handicapped spectators must present their placard/letter to the Mira Vista Pro Shop prior to getting a golf cart. Spectators permitted to operate a golf cart are restricted to cart paths only. A very limited number of carts for handicapped spectators are available.

Lunch will be provided for contestants on Monday and Tuesday. Food is also available for friends and family to purchase from Mira Vista Country Club. Mira Vista will accept cash or credit cards.

Awards

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and for the final round low score.

Lodging

There are several hotels close to the country club, as well as multiple full-service options in downtown Fort Worth (20 minutes from golf course).

Hyatt Place is one of our recommended hotels, just two miles from the country club. Mira Vista residents are also open to housing players who are traveling alone.

There is a limited amount of space for host housing, and interested parties should contact us to request host housing accommodations and complete a housing application.

(NOTE: If host housing is available and airport pick-up is offered, players should arrange travel to arrive between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at DFW International Airport).

Traveling

The Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex is home to two airports: DFW International Airport (38 miles, 45 minutes) and Dallas Love Field (48 miles, 60 minutes).

Transportation is the responsibility of the family / player attending.

“Playing in the Kathy Whitworth was always something I looked forward to every year. With the event being in Texas with as strong of a field that this tournament has it forces you to play your best to complete and that was one of my favorite things about this event.”
