History of the Tournament
The Kathy Whitworth Invitational Junior Girls Championship was
established in 1999 to give talented girls the opportunity to
participate at the highest tier of competitive golf on a premier
championship course with entry acceptance based on merit rather than
dependent upon means or resources. The tournament is conducted in
concert with the ideals of the USGA promoting the love of the game
while building character, leadership, and responsibility. With
these high standards, top U.S. and international junior girl golfers
are attracted annually.
